オープン・チューニング・ギターの為の作品。ギターは次のようなチューニングで演奏される：C,G,D,E,G,C
これはハワイアンのスラック・キー・ギターのような低いチューニングになっている。
左手はアイルランドやスコットランドのパイプやフィドルの指使いをしている。
右手は20世紀初期のブルース・ギタリストのフィンガー・ピッキングとリチャード・トンプソンやマーチン・カーシーのイギリスやケルトのフィンガー・ピッキング・スタイルが混ざって入っている。
真ん中には短い歌が出て来る。
僕のギターの生徒達のはこの曲を知っている人が多い。
様々な指使いのスタイルを入れた曲なので、いろいろな事が学べる。
この曲も先週の七夕祭りで演奏しました。

ときどき、たった一人でいる時
昔の、あの頃の事を思い浮かべる
全ての考えが
違う言葉で表されていた頃
もうすでに、話さなくなった言葉で

そして記憶が戻って行くと
もうすでに表せないことを感じていたのに気がづく
全ての色が
違った陰影で見えていた、あの頃
もうすでに、話さなくなった言葉

不思議に感じるのは
世界が変わったからではない
でも環境は考えの一つ
そしてすべての考えが違った音楽で表されていた頃
もうすでに、話さなくなった言葉

A composition for open-tuning guitar with a short song in the middle.
The guitar is tuned C,G,D,E,G,C
Sometimes a slack-Key Hawaiian Guitar is tuned as low as this.
The left hand uses finger patterns used in traditional Celtic and British pipes and fiddles.
The right hand uses picking styles pioneered by Blues guitarists and Celtic and British guitarists like Richard Thompson and Martin Carthy.
I crammed a whole lot of different finger styles into this composition.
Many of my students know this piece as I’ve often taught it.
I played this last Saturday at the Tanabata Festival in Kanagawa, Japan

Sometimes when you are all alone,
You think back to that time you once knew,
When every thought,
Was in a different tongue,
A language, you could no longer speak.

And you’d realize as your mind goes back.
You’d felt things, you could no longer say,
When every color,
Was in a different shade,
A language, you could no longer speak.

It feels strange,
The world didn’t change,
But environments are a part of thoughts,
When every thought was in a different tongue,
In a language, you could no longer speak.
