6月3日に神戸の横尾忠則現代美術館で『子どもの目から見たサイケデリック文化』というスペシァル・ライヴ・アンド・トーク・イベントをやっていますが、これはその時の写真です。

1960年代のニューヨークでサイケデリックのライヴをやっていたフィルモア・イーストやエレクリック・サーカスを子供の頃にに横尾忠則さんなどと見に行っていたAyuoのサイケデリック時代の経験を生かしたバンドです。

今回もAYUOさんのオリジナルや朗読をはじめ、ここ数回で好評なプリンスやGENESISや、Dead can danceのカバーに加えて、武満徹やエリック・サティの名曲を完全にリハモ・アレンジしたものなど、バリエーションに富んだコンテンツとなってます。

Beginnings

Beginnings (English below) – 小学5年生頃のAyuo と母の明本歌子。パーティーでデビット・ボウイややビートルズの曲を演奏していた。1960年代では、フランク・シナトラ、ジョビンとビートルズが多く家では聴こえていたと思う。小学生の頃、Ayuo自身は他にグレートフル・デッド、ドァーズ、ジェファーソン・エアプレーン、ピンク・フロイド、シド・バレット,　ザ・フー等が好きだっと思う。中学生になると、キンクス、ジェネシス、ジョニ・ミッチェル、ルー・リード、ジョン・ケール、ニコ等を発見する。リンゼイ・ケンプ・カンパニーの音楽として中学生の終わり頃にラヴェルやワグナー等のクラシックも発見した。

Ayuo around the time he was in the fifth grade (11, I think) playing guitar at a party with Utako on piano. We used to play David Bowie, Beatles songs and some other things. During the 1960s, Ayuo was listening to a lot of The Doors, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, and The Who. Ayuo discovered the joys of listening to The Kinks, Genesis, Joni Mitchell, Lou reeed, John Cale, Nico while at middle school. Ayuo first heard Wagner and Ravel as background music for Lindsay Kemp’s production of “Salome” around the time he was 14.ayuo-11-years-old-playing-guitar-with-utako-on-piano

I took photographs of Lindsay Kemp’s Salome in 1975 in New York City.
I was taking photography class at my middle school in Little Red School House.
Some of these photographs were published in Men’s Club magazine in Japan in 1975.

1975年にはニューヨークの学校で写真をクラスをとっていました。
その時に僕が取ったこれらのリンゼイ・ケンプの『サロメ』の写真は1975年のMen’s Clubの雑誌に載りました。シェアする場合はクレジットをお願いします。

10月6日は渋谷公園通りクラシックスでの私たちのグループGenomeによるDavid Bowie Tribute ”Ziggy Stardust” 全曲ライヴに来て頂いてありがとうございます。
音楽評論家の関口義人様のフェイスブックのぺーじからの言葉です：
『19:00 渋谷公園通りクラシックスでAyuo & GenomeによるDavid Bowie Tribute ”Ziggy Stardust” 全曲を再演するという試み。めちゃくちゃカッコいいサウンドでした。名曲揃いのアルバムだけど素晴らしい再演ぶりに感嘆しました。ダンサー、Nashaalを含む5人編成から放たれるサイケでロックな80分の饗宴空間。次回はPrince Tributeだそうで。また行きます。守屋さん(b)立岩さん(ds)とスモールトーク。こんなバンドはほかにはない！』

In the 4th staging of the ‘Genome series’, the flamboyant & androgynous David Bowie was highlighted: the last performance (1973) as his stage alter ego Ziggy Stardust. Glam, hard, art rock.
Ayuo Takahashi (vocals, guitar, dance)’ Junzo Tateiwa (drums)’ Makiko Seo (piano, keyboard), Nashaal Naho Baba Barbara (dance), & Takuyuki Moriya (bass) gave powerful performances that included their own creative additions. Wow
