生き物って何? by Ayuo
A: ねえー、ねえー、人間って何？
B:何って？
A:人間って何で出来ている？ どうして生きているの？生き物って何？
B: 生き物はみんな遠い宇宙の星くずから出来ているって偉い科学者が言っているの
を聞いた事があるよ。遠い宇宙から風に乗って、やって来たの。
A:私たち、宇宙人？
B:（首をふって）うん、うん。でもね、星の強い強い力で出来ているの。
地球に住んでいる生き物はみんな空に見える太陽の力で生きているの。
A:太陽が出ている日って熱いね。
B:そうね。強い光をみんなに与えているから熱く感じるのよ。
お花や草や野菜みたいな植物も太陽の力で育っているの。
それを牛や豚や鳥は食べてるの。
植物やお肉を食べると、そこからも太陽の力が人の体に入って行くの。
A:でも、どうやって人間になったの？
B:昔、昔、この私たちが住んでいる地球に,人間はまだ出来ていなかったの。
A:いなかったの？誰も？それじゃ猫は？
B:猫もいなかったの。
A:鳥は？
B:鳥もいなかったの。
A:お花はあったの？
B:お花もなかったの。
A:それじゃ、何があったの？
B:小さな生き物。大きな生き物は小さな生き物から出来ているの。

 

A:私達も本当はたくさんの小さな生き物から出来ているの？

でも、私一人の人に見えるよ。違うの？
B:長い、長い時間をかけて今のあなたになったのよ。
最初はね、昔、宇宙からやって来た小さな星くずが地球で生きる生き物に変わった
の。
A:どうやって？引っ越しをしていたの？
B:そうね。新しく住むことになったこの地球という場所にやって来て。ここに合う
生き方に慣れて行ったの。
まず、小さな生き物が集まって、水に住む小さな生き物になったの。それからま
た、時間をかけてお魚になったの。そして、海の中と地球の上に草が生えて来て。
海から地球の上に上がった生き物はワニになったり、トカゲになってり、鳥になっ
てり、大きな恐竜になったの。それから、ネズミや猫や犬になって、猿になって、そ
れからやっと人間になったの。長い、長い道だったのよ。
今でもみんな、人は生まれる時に、その人になるまでの長い旅をママのおなかの中
でしてから生まれるの。
人間の頭の中には、鳥と同じ脳みそがあるの。ネズミと同じ部分もあるの。そし
て、お猿さんと同じ部分もあるの。
昔の人達は、人がたくさんの生き物で出来ているって感じていたから、いろいろな
神様や女神さまを考えたの。いろいろな考えが頭の中で思い浮かんでくるじゃな
い。
A: 神様って？
B:神様について、いろいろな人がみんな違う事を言ったりしているけど、私はね、
宇宙を動かす大きな力だと思うの。そして、物語に出て来る、いろいろな神様や女
神さまは、その様々な力の表れだと思うの。
人はいろいろな生き物から出来ているからいろいろな力があるのよ。
A:私って一人？
B:（首をふって）うん、うん。一人じゃないの。
パパとママとその人のパパとママと、そのまたパパとママ。遠い昔、昔に戻るとお
猿さんになって、鳥になって、お花になるの。

そして宇宙の一部分なの。

strange, how words and thoughts grow old
just like we do
and the same words sound different
when the situation has changed

and we pass away to another way
of becoming
what we are

to become
to be
you and me
as we are
as we will be

In front of your eyes
I see a character
I don’t know him
You don’t know him either.

A picture appears in your mind
That conjures up the words you are hearing

People create illusions of others
I see them like castles in the air
Because people can’t understand
Anything they haven’t seen themselves
And all the castles in the built on these streets
Are ready to collapse like the World Trade Center

You want me to play that role
Well, alright, but when will you realize
I’m only acting for your benefit

We are all actors
In this world
Your friends and family
You act according to their images
And you play along
You can call it tradition
Try living in a different land
It’s only when you are all alone that you can become yourself again

You are your own culture
You have your own collective within you
Whenever you are with others
You have to consider their image of you
And you put on an act
Go to a different land
And you become a different character

Oh, no,no, you don’t change
You change with images
You change only because people’s image of you change

We don’t change
Yet we change
Everyday
Ever so slightly
As the air touches us

if only you didn’t make any judgements
you would be free to change with the oceans inside you

that you have to join some cult
some religion
some political party

you will be followed by the mentally weak
the indecisive
and others
who want to join your party
those who look up to receive some kind of orders
some kind of a revelation that they can’t think for themselves

and so the mob comes
with their ideology and their guillotine
and their fantastic ideas of the people

so you hide behind the words of an american pop tune
you have no words to express your thoughts
so you hide behind the words of a hollywood movie

don’t hide behind someone else’s words
let me see your face

what do you want to tell me

life is living, dying , fading away
becoming,
coming into existence

becoming something different
a plant, an animal
a part of the sea

eating
talking
defecating
and
becoming

beauty is not the make believe
beauty is not made up
beauty is life as it is
including the cycle of changes

we are what we are
we are made from what we experience
do you know what I’ve experienced?
do I really know what you’ve seen?

somewhere there is a space
where we are still children

I see you as me
what i will be

parts of what once was me
are a part of you

you were once what i went through
certain experiences are copied down generations
muscle movements
reactions to bacteria
certain experiences are never understood
language is one

language is a part of the culture
of the time, of the period
it only communicates with those who saw the same things
words change their meaning
as time goes on
the words the Greeks used now have different meanings

Expressions are conveyed through tone
written words can be logical or poetic

I decided to skip the metaphors this time
beautiful sounding can lead to misunderstandings
I’m now talking the way I think
No translations in between
so my words come straight from my thoughts

You come from different backgrounds
will use your own background to try to define the words I speak

And the things you saw
the life you lived will influence
the way you react to words

the way you put meaning into words

the breath that moves life
was what the ancients called soul
anima and psyche
When you breathe you move
the breath gives you life
living is movement

what is life?
what is it to pass away?

where will you be?
where will i be?

where are we headed?

what is god?

what are the energies of the universe?

what is life ?
what is death?

what is it to become?
And become from what?
you could be many things
reincarnation is a metaphor

Society doesn’t allow you to be many things
you are pigeonholed to become one
one substance, one soul
one stereotyped individual

i don’t have to do this
but i am doing it because
i feel someone wants me to

you would do nothing
except eat and play
if you had nothing to say to anyone
someone needs an answer

I am a ripple on flowing water by Ayuo

i was a knot in a vast network
i am a cultural pattern
i influence others
and others have influenced me

i am a ripple on flowing water
i have merged into others
we rise and splash in waves
the ripples are individuals
each with their own name
and we all are parts of interwoven patterns
forming the whole
thoughts that passed through you
have existed before as patterns
moving in space and time
a ripple is as a single being

i am a part of this interwoven pattersn of thoughts
and so are you
creating experiences together

i am not bound to a single being
we know that trees and blood cells
similar to those those thast have passed
will come again
when one turns back into life by life
when one tries to
unravel the complex knots of minds

We change
We transform
Become the sea
Become You

There are no words that allow me to express
the subtlety of how we have merged with one other
The sea is one metaphor
The river is another

i will circulate in the biosphere
i will become clouds and oceans
i will become many different creatures

i have merged into others
more subtly than words will allow us to express

we exist in seas of minds
creating experiences
that ties us together
in the oceans of the universe
tieing us together

You want to prove that your theories are absolute
So you try to eliminate everything that may prove you wrong

When you fall in love

What you love exists within you

You see the world
As you expect to see it

You became conscioius of it
When you became six
And it grew to be come you

There are those who have knowledge and show it

Words are symbols by Ayuo

Words are symbols
They come from gestures
There are no magical sounds
Unless you add meaning to them

You want to hear stories
There are people you want to be
Adventures that opens your horizon
Places you’ve never been
And places that don’t exist

People to act out your fantasies
That are too far away to be real

But stories have their own patterns
And people repeat the same stories
Over and over in different settings
Meanings in words may differ in different cultures
But I began to wonder
Maybe for us humans
There are only a few set of story patterns
And we simply continue to put them in different settings
Over and over again.

Then you realize
There are no places that don’t exist
There are no people you don’t know
Because you see them from the limits of your mind
People are storytellers
And in their heads are the patterns of stories
With which they see the world
